LOVE YOUR MAMA

Posted on 22 September 202422 September 2024 by Jaya Prisco

Recently e.g.o.magazine sat down with the amazing Celeste Tesoriero from Sonzai Studio and Ismeen Ashiry to talk about their initiative, ‘love your mama’.

Sonzai Studios is a leading sustainable fashion consultancy, founded on the ethos of making sustainability sexy and simple. Founded by designer-turned-sustainability-expert Celeste Tesoriero, Sonzai empowers brands to embrace a more sustainable future through creative strategies and clear communication.

Australian model, dancer, actress, and founder of Move & Manifest, Ismeen Ashiry is a household name in the fashion world. Not only admired for her style and effortless charm, but Ismeen also stands out as a sustainable fashion advocate in the industry.

Love your mama is an initiative where the two talents come together to advocate for sustainability and demonstrate how to consciously dress and purchase. A collaboration where Sonzai Studio curates a selection of sustainable brands for Celeste and Mimi to confidently showcase and inspire people with.
“Dressing sustainably is not just about championing certain brands, it is about exploring various avenues to get what you want. Using your current wardrobe, up-cycling, renting, buying vintage, borrowing. Together, Mimi and I are excited to show you how to do it” – Celeste.

“Fashion is a statement, it has a political role and is a way to highlight the consciousness of the society at that time.”

E.G.O. acknowledges the traditional custodians of the land on which we work, the Wurundjeri and Boon Wurrung people of the Kulin Nation. We acknowledge their continued connection and contribution to land, water and community, and pay our respects to Elders past, present and emerging. Sovereignty was never ceded; this always was, always will be, Aboriginal land.
